Soroptimist International provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.
A global volunteer movement, Soroptimist International transforms women’s and girls’ lives through a network of over 72,000 club members in 121 countries and territories.
In our Federation alone, over 2000 women receive funding for their education every year, and over 9,000 girls gain skills and confidence in mentoring programs.
Soroptimist International of Canada West Online (“SICWO”)
SI Canada West Online has members across Canada. We leverage our lack of a single community into an opportunity for two special missions:
Truth Before Reconciliation Learning Circle
We are partnering with groups in remote and Northern areas of Canada to provide women and girls with access to education as respectful and helpful allies.
We are committed to understanding the Indigenous impact of colonization through our ongoing Truth Before Reconciliation Learning Circle.
We listen to the stories of communities, of women’s and girls’ visions for their futures. We ask how we can best be of service.
We incubate new clubs in new communities.
Women who would like to form an in-person club in their community are welcome to join SI Canada West Online to
- Begin local Soroptimist programs right away
- Gain Soroptimist experience and connections
- Attract more members and funding
When enough women from the community have joined, or are ready to join, they can create their own local, in-person Soroptimist club.
