Soroptimist International of Bridgend and District Club, Wales South Region, SI Great Britain and Ireland became our second official Friendship Link on 27 October 2025 per the Certificate of Friendship sent by the SIGBI Friendship Link Coordinator. This was initiated by the Welsh club with particular interest in our region and how an online club functions. They had met regularly as a club on Zoom during Covid and continued on special occasions with their international Friendship Links. We have had several wonderful virtual and email connections since. Members were impressed with our expansion of the DIBI Virtual Career Library after reading our website and watching the recording sent to them of the WCR Sharing Soroptimist Stories session highlighting it. Some were able to attend the session live on SI Vancouver’s 100th anniversary and fantastic building project Soroptimist House’. We were delighted that they joined us for our virtual International Women’s Day event celebrating our ‘Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women’. recipients and shared information of their Federation’s ‘Diamond Education Grant’ created the same year (1972).
